truck pump ideas

I am the proud owner of a 1965 International R192 series dump truck with a Red Diamond 450 engine. I need to install a hydraulic pump to run a front snowplow and wing for plowing snow (I"m sure we"re going to get pounded with the white stuff up here in Minnesota this winter). Any ideas on what kind of pump to be looking for?

Consider tapping into the pump for the hoist. You would probably need to pop the transmission into neutral to raise when not moving. Just like an old tractor and loader without live hydraulic. You should be able to get a diverter valve to be able to power one or the other, but not both at the same time. V&M in Sioux Falls sells what they call "Add a valve" for tractor applications to get another outlet. It is electric solenoid operated. Probably better ideas out there.
Another idea would be to get another power steering pump belted up to the engine. Should be plenty of pressure, maybe short on reservoir size, but that could be modified. Probably have to fab up a new bracket, but on the bright side there is probably adequate room to work with.

Google Bailey Hydraulics, they offer a 12 volt electric pump with reservoir for just your application. Has power up and gravity down plus power angle.

you will want a sizable capacity pump to run a blade and wing. It will also want to be live hydraulic too. The hoist pump would be to slow, I think if it is one of those in the tank ones, like for grain trucks.

"Northern" has engine mounted, belt driven pumps
with electric clutch"s like on air conditioner
compressors. I" mounted them for snow plows,..works great.
I also put one on a 1965 IH pickup, with a 345 V8
I got a IH specific air conditioner bracket, to
mount the pump, from a junkyard with lots of IH
pickups and travelalls.
