3 1/2 by me, 2 1/2 at the farm

Yesterday was a blessing, even though our taller corn got blown down a fair amount by high winds. It's not tasseled out yet and we'll see how much it picks back up. Our later planted corn got blown over too but it's young enough it should pick itself up again. It's only about waist high but with this rain it should take off now.

A co-worker who cash crops on the other side of Lake Winnebago from my house barely got a 1/2". Still glad to get that little bit though.

Every little bit helps. I remember when I was a kid, every two or three years we would have a rain storm with high winds that would blow the corn over. Next day Dad had us out there straightening it up and tamping dirt at the roots to support it. We only had a small farm. An operation like most of you folks have, it wouldn't be practical. I know when we bought the little farm it had two rows of apple trees behind the house. A total of 12 or 14 trees. The first five years we were there danged if we didn't lose half the trees to windstorms.
