i have a 1950 allis chalmers wd and until recently now after i checked the points it is down on power and backfires and pops out exhaust. i have tried a lot of things but i am out of solutions. i checked the compression and i have 85 to 95 across the cylinders. the thing idles good but when i run the brush hog it starts doing its thing. any help would be helpful. thanks

points affect timing and timing affects power. Late timing will cause backfire out of exhaust. Recheck carefully like a brain surgeon. Dave

What did you set the point gap at?? The manual says to set them at 0.022. What happens if you choke it?? If it helps you may be running to lean if it hurts then maybe to rich.

condider worn bushings letting point gap vary also if dist does wd have distributer or mag? whichever having weighs and advanc mechasium??

Be sure there is NO water in the sediment bowl..

I can tell from experience that any water in the sediment bowl can make an AC WD-45 miss...
