i have a john deere 510 round baler,we changed out the bearings on the drive roller(both sides),reassembled and went to try it and the drive gears (52 tooth,and 22 tooth) were not tightly meshed. engaged it and filings were be thrown up from the big gear.almost wore out almost half of the life of the gear.could use some help to figure it out? thanks |

| Maybe the problem lies with the pivots(parts key #11)???????? If you notice brg bores of parts keys #25 & 30 should limit space between gears if brgs & pivots are seated properly. |

| only one half of big sprocket (?) is chewed really bad, small one is okay, like it is bent or cock-eyed in there |

Are you positive you got the new brgs centered in their mounting holes correctly??? Are these the rollers & gears in question? reason I ask is parts shows one is 22 & the other is 51 tooth.? It's been way to long since I've looked behind a 510 twine box to remember.

| i thought we did, or how do you tell if you did or not? All seated together well and nuts were all real close to equal threads shown |

| yes, on one side it is and the other it is two gears(behind the twine box) |
