i don't have a garden , but these little fellers were EVERYWHERE several neighbors lost potatos and 'maters. seems the chickens won't eat them either. but the good side is now that we've had a few showers and some cooler temps they have gone away for a bit

saturday night the back porch light got left on for a bit, it was COVERED in these little bastads

I don't think that I have ever seen such an infestation as you show there. Unfortunately, I don't know of any natural enemies of the darned things. Havta killem with pizen I rekon.

Several weeks ago I swathed the neighbor's alfalfa down along the creek. When I got off the tractor to put the transport blocks down on the swather, I noticed the windrows were thick with beetles.

My alfalfa ground is a little higher than the neighbor's, and (so far) I haven't seen any beetles in my fields this year.

Don't let one of them things get under your cap, they'll raise a knot on your head that'll hurt like heck for a couple of weeks. (I found that out years ago. ha ha)

So that's what those are. We had never before seen
anything like that, just regular black and gray
blister beetles. On a few occasions we came across
potato plants just covered in them. They succumb
pretty easily to even a light spray, and they only
seem to be in these swarms.

Yep I did something this year I have never down before and used 7 dust on my garden due to the fact they are eating every thing I have. I think the 7 dust and the rain we had and cooler temps have helps but not 100% sure yet since it has only been a day since it rained
