38 g unstyled over heating

I just bought a 38 unstyled g john deere, it is overheating in a short distance. any ideas of what might be causing this problem. The guy I bought it from said when he parked it a year ago, he drained the water out. I put filled it with 2 gallons od 50/50 then finished with water.....how much fluid are you suppose to put in it, and can it b too full!

Drain it all out & put it back in. It has to be mixed or the heavier af will stay in the bottom & not circulate.

I'm not sure of the unstyled capacity, but a styled G has a 13 gallon cooling system.

If you overfill, it should overflow. But make sure your antifreeze and water are mixed before putting into radiator. else it will stratify, and problems like you are seeing can result. BTDT!
