with Larry's too!! Met up with a 7th cousin down in Pittsbrugh today. I knew that we had family in this county back in the 1700s and that we were from France. Now The Rest Of The story. 8th granddad or there about, was a French Huguenot that had to leave France on account of his religion, he went to Nova Scocia, Canada, then New Jersey where he and his son Served in the Revolutionary War!!! later on he moved to Pittsbrugh where he is buried born 1731 died 1797 he is buried with 5 other Gravatt-s in dirt given to him from the USA. for serving in the war. at one time it was 140 acres. DANG! Way to go Grandad # 8
 
Here's an FYI for you, Rusted:

In Africa, many years back, they used a steam locomotive called a Garrat!
It had a large engine, and had a water tender on each end. It was used a lot and could haul a long train!
I think they have all been phased out now, due to the use of diesel engines.

As a protestant, he was lucky, got to be a refugee in civilization. Few Acadians bothered with the revolution or 1812, since it was yankees from Mass and most of New England that took the land and kicked them across the globe. The actual British were kinder. Virginia starved most of their Acadians to death, those were the real unlucky frenchmens! Mine were given free land in New York, with all the free snowballs, blackflies and mosquitos you can eat! Any other last names crop up in these findings? Lots online about Acadians, and a few bluenosers on thses forums often. abeinto cusin. Oh, btw, since we might be related, can I borrow 50 bucks till payday????
 
There is a Kennedy in there, as fer the 50 bucks go, I think the Kennedys have it, your going to have to ask them. lol.
