that nice saw you have is not going to like that mud
much . unless of course you have a debarker then it
won't matter .

Lyle What will you do with the last 20 ft on the small end. Around here all that is chipped for pulp wood, in fact not much less than 24 inches goes to the real saw mill. Have you a plan for the waste ?
I Have a wood mizer mill and I can make lumber out of some of that small stuff but it is really not profitable if your time is worth anything.

That's why he's carrying the log with the loader instead of dragging it. Log looks pretty clean to me. I have been known to saw logs to 6" but only in an emergency. My time is not worth anything much anyway.

Hey Zack ! Them logs will work fine on his mill. It cuts so crooked it follows such a taper...he don't have to turn the logs .. all he does is cut off the rounded ends creating less scrap.(Grin)

he mud is not good thats for sure, I do have the logs resting on sleepers and Im being very careful not to get them dirty. Evenually I will have enough sawdust to cover the landing.

m gonna cut as much as I can, dont really care about my time. Any extra material will be sold as firewood. I figure I could go and drink coffee or make a couple of 2x4s. It only takes a few minutes to run that small wood through the mill, no big deal as far as Im concernd
