Old International Scouts

To keep this tractor related, I am an International fan, that has a 656 Utility (great tractor!). I have an old 74 Scout now but, was wondering if anyone in the Indiana area knows of any old Scouts sitting behind an old barn somewhere. I have been searching Craigslist for months and just can't seem to come up with one. Most have been chopped up to make mud buggies or the owners are super proud of what they are trying to sell and asking a ton.
Thanks, Dave

I had a 1974 Scout a long time ago. Still have the transmission/transfer case to it. It was such a bad rust bucket it was not safe to even sit in let alone drive it. When I removed the body from the frame I did not even take out one single bolt I just lifted it off with my loader

Have you tried search tempest?
You can set your parameters, keywords, zip code and distance and search all the craigslists in a given area.
A week or so ago there must have been a local get together as I saw 4 or 5 Scouts and a couple of Travelalls going down the highway together.
I like them but around here they sure rusted out fast.

I have one and a half of the old 800 models . One is all there with a full cab and the other is frame and running gear . S.E. Indiana . They have been sitting for a long time .

Dave send me an e-mail direct.. I have been buying the later scout II for years have many but I do not b uy the 80 or 800 can put you on to many from finished to junker but be aware that raw scrap is up to about $ 300 a ton so anything you find is going to be a thousand or so but lots of them right here in my area.

If you"re willing to drive a ways, I have a "66 (maybe"67) Scout with the Truck 4 speed (Granny gear) It is pretty much complete but the engine needs work and it's a "rust bucket". 4Cyl. - half a V-8.
$200; probably worth more for scrap!?

Most cars of that time are rusted out because they had just
taken all the lead out of the paint. Took a while to figure out
what to do about it.
I scraped two IH dump trucks because you could see the
engine from the cab. Boss was mad wanted me to order new
bodies for them. And you wonder where you government
dollars go to.

TGIN, What would you want to sell them for? Can I get some photos of them?

An older gentleman passed away and left his 1974 Scout with a 327 V-8 in it to my grandfather. It had around 35,000 miles. While driving in off road I lost forward, and came home in reverse. I then sold it for $50.00 before I was old enought to have a drivers license.

I never have tried putting pictures on here . I would sell them at scrap price .

Had an old 66 Scout I just used for a farm beater years ago. One Christmas Eve, my diesel Monte Carlo was not plugged in, and would not start, blocking my pickup in the garage. Old Scout was outside, and fired right up, so I decided to make the 40 mile drive to the folks in it. This thing had seats upholstered with Golden Harvest seed sacks, fuel tank fell out, so was running with a pair of boat tanks in the back. No heater (Well, it was there, but all you old Scout guys know how well they work!) Hood was held down with a ratchet strap.

Just East of Tecumseh NE, I stopped for a hitchhiker, standing out in the dark, and blowing snow...The guy gets in, looks around, and says, "Man buddy, I am not sure who is worse off, you or me!"

Shortly after that, Ol Blue went to the scrapyard!
