I read that Andy Griffith died today and he was 86.
That show was good, back when TV had some morals and decency.
I think Don Knotts died several years ago. I dont know about Aunt Bea. (she has likely been dead 20 years)

I read Goober passes away in May.

This show was filmed when watching TV was a family event. Nothing like all of the junk that is on now.

He was always a good actor. He was in the Brad Paisley video, "Waitin' on a Woman"... it is a neat video and Andy Griffith really added a nice touch to it.

Just read an article talking about his life and death. It's a sad day for thos of us here in NC, and elsewhere, to lose such a great actor and, from all accounts, just a great person in general.

Andy was a great actor and a good comedian, he started recording comedy when he was in school at UNC, and made several movies before he started his TV career. Most of the movies he made were in black and white.

Believe not many are left, Gomer, of course Opie and his brother, a couple of Darlings, BettyLou, the druggist Andy dated for a few episodes, the English butler is about it. On the guy who replaced Barney for a short time.

Aunt Bee passed away just after the Return to Mayberry movie showed on TV.

I remember Andy from 'No Time for Sargeants' to his show and further. Never had to be foul, always that easy southern charm. Too bad we can't all live like that. His legacy, however, will be around for many years. RIP, Andy. We'll all miss you.

Andy was truely a class act. I stillenjoy watching his tv show,Barney was a riot! Andy's movie "No Time for Sargents" is an enjoyable movie.

I've got a cousin that lived next to him down there in Manteo, N.C. and she and her husband said he was one of the nicest people they've ever known!! Can hear him right now- "Barney, why did you have to go and do that?" and Barney would just shrug and look at him with those pitiful eyes all downcast like "yep, I did it again"! Then Andy would ask for his bullet!!!

Even though his politics went sour in his old age I've always enjoyed him, from the time way back yonder when he did "What it was was football" and "Romeo and Juliet" ("I'm rightcheer behind the arbor vitae.")

I disagree that his politics went sour. I think that is very selfish of you to say such things merely because someone else has another opinion. America was built on everyone having a different idea on what freedom is and other respecting that.

Hitler on had one way for people to have an opinion, much like your opinion. You and your ilk would have been proud brown shirts.
