Storm blew/busted (lightning??) a tree that fell across the pasture fence where the mares and babies were on Friday night. Tree was on county property and blocked a right of way road and broke off a couple of old wooden fence posts... No real harm done because I was just waitin on a rountuit for replacing the wood with T posts that I've had on hand a while.... Wife called the county at 0800 this morning and when I made the chore loop the boss of the service crew was there and had the fall halfway cleaned up at 0930 and had picked up 3 Tposts and insulators at the local ag store to fix the fence (wife told them there were 3 broken posts and the guy knew I had most of the pastures in Tposts)...
Mares/babies were in the field next to the pasture that I still need to mow for hay. He helped me put them back and said send the county a bill for the hay they ruined....
I won't be doing that, but the offer was nice.......
