what do 480/70 convert to like 16.9 or 18.4 ???

480 is approx 18.4... iirc

460 Just checked the tire size chart, a 480-70X38 is approximately 64.5 inches tall. A 18.4X38 is about 69.7 inches tall, a 16.9X38 shows to be 64.00 to 66.6 inches tall depending on the brand.

480mm = 18-7/8"

But the profile means it's smaller in diameter than a 16.9.

It's one of those wide flat-treaded European tires that doesn't have an exact American match.
