My friends hay field burned looks like something from the road started it.Burned several acers with everything so dry i wunder how they got it out.Lots of tire tracks all over it.Lucky he have moved most of first cutting off the field.

Probably someone tossed a cigarette out the window.

Because of the drought last year, tv stations were constantly telling people not to throw cigs out the window. They didn"t listen. Had lots of grass fires along the highways.

Here's another in LaGrange Co. Indiana. By the article it sounds like the fire started with the tractor or baler. Yesterday the temp. was up to 106 and continues bone dry.

Ya real dry out here in Missouri and with the 4th of July in less then a week I am sure we will here about a lot of fires all over the country. The boy threw a firecracker out yesterday and if I had not been right there watering the garden it would have started the lawn on fire

My Buddy Victor was running a large flail mower over a field last year. He hit an old Dud left over from the WW II army base he was on. Heard and felt a load boom and the field all around him was instantly on fire.
Scared the "H" out of him. Good thing the boss was nearby with a water truck.

Heard a guy over by callao was mowing yesterday with disk mower, hit a rock and started a fire, didn't hear how much was burnt.

Same here in Central NY. Happened two weeks ago just below us on US20. The fire was reported quickly by a passer by, and it was only yards from the fire house. Could have been bad if not quickly put out. There was a lot of hay cut in surounding fields.
