Was through SW Iowa in July a few years ago and didn't see anything but beans and corn, same as southern Minnesota. Maybe a small patch of alfalfa here and there.

There's something about a wheat field that just screams abundance. A corn field or bean field looks like lots of plant but who knows how the ears/pods turn out. We painted most of our living space, as opposed to sleeping, the color of ripening wheat.
