painting vinyl sising?

busy on here today. pondering painting my vinyl siding. has anyone done this? if so, what paint did you use? how did you apply it? how long has it lasted? i have washed the siding once and would do it again and use GOOD paint. thanks.

The reason you get vinyl siding is so that you DONT have to paint every few years.
Let me guess......the wifey doesnt like the color.

Don't know first hand but I Googled this for you. It sounds like something I would check out if wanting to paint vinyl.

well fellas,i dont like the color but i dont have a wife. i can google also. i value first hand experience from real americans not google bs.

I sprayed my vinyl shutters with Sherwin-Williams
exterior Super Latex paint. I went to their local store and asked what paint I should use on them and they told me to use this. They also said to wash them off with warm soapy water and then rinse them. I've only painted them twice in the last 30 years. That paint isn't very cheap and they can tint any color. The last time they were painted was in 1997 and they still look good now. None has peeled. You may need to thin the paint a little. Using a sprayer you won't have any brush marks. You may have a problem if another house is nearby for over spray. I did my shutters in an open area behind my house and no houses are near. It goes pretty fast by spraying. You probably need to powerwash the house to remove any crud. Hal
