     stayed overnight in PA thursday night,so I did some fishing just before it got dark,caught a few bass and some blue gills,I cut the grass sround the pond thursday,and weedwacked the edges ,Saw a big snapping turtle in the pond,the neighbor is going to try and catch it,he says he can get it with a floating jug with a line attached to it with bait on it |

| | Beautiful pond and landscape. I too, went fishing last week for the first time this year. Spirit Lake, IA, caught a few walleyes, smallies, hand sized bluegills and a nice northern. I love it when you catch a variety, you never know what you are reeling in. Nice pics. |

| How do the fish taste? A friend has a farm pond and the fish taste terrible, a muddy foul flavor. |

Old guy when I was a kid had a spring in his basementthat he had flowing thru two big sandstone tanks. He'd catch snapping turtles and pond fish and put them in the tanks for awhile and said it flushed out the mud taste. Never tried anything to know if it really worked but he swore by it...
Another guy would catch carp out of the muddy backwaters and put them in a big chicken wire cage by his boat dock in the main river.... |
