Most likely the hydraulic oil is breaking down from water or age. Also teh pump could be going.

One like that can be a number of things. Weak pump, weak of bad relief valve, bad cylinder seals, pin hole in the hyd line some place, bad o-ring in the hyd system where it goes to the 3 point under the seat etc.

Try new oil, but most important clean the transmission-hydraulic oil filter which is accessed on the lower right side of the transmission housing(RH as seen from the rear of the tractor) If you are lucky, cleaning the filter, which is a stainless steel mesh, will be enough, but often the filter has to be replaced since it is difficult to get them clean. Maybe it was on her someone suggested boiling them in sudsy ammonia, but I've never tried it.
