a lot of the folks down there in the hills still rake with a wooden rake and make hay stacks.. Wife and I just finished raking up and loading about an acre of grass/hay with wooden rakes...Places like you see that are flat sometimes just get ran over with a roundbaler by a big neighbor......... There are horsedrawn tedders that would do fine behind a walk behind. I use one with the quad now and then....
