A first at my family's farm.

This week has been a busy one and note worthy.

I finally got the garden in, I'm at 1/10ac, hand dug a good chunk of it. Since the tiller needs to be repaired and the only tillage tool I had to work with was my lightweight disk harrow which also needs repairs, I improvised and disked up the sweet corn plot.

Sowed 1lb of Bodacious, 18 tomatoes,.12 peppers, a flat of Horseradish, Onions and volunteer potatoes in April, I just have to plant bush beans, cukes, pumpkins and melons.

I'm hoping by late July I have enough produce to start selling at the farmer's market.

I'm proud of my 135, did as she should and that was the most work she's done since dad died in 1993.

The other first was the BTO that leases my field proper had to replant part of the corn. I'd say 15% of thr crop failed to germinate or was washed out. It's never happened before. It was planted on 18 April and between the rain in April, the Drought in May, it's only 14” tall.

Anyway, I'm hoping we get rain again soon. For my garden and the field's sake.

Greetings from Ohio
