OT Not a good day

Yesterday started out rainy so I decided to sharpen and do some maintaince on the Woods finish mower. All went well.
It cleared up after lunch so I decided to mow a field for a program we are having this weekend.
About 1/4 through the job I noticed my wallet missing. On the next pass, Sure enough there it was. A lot of small plastic pieces all over the ground. The good news was my license and the few dollars were fine But all my medical cards and 2 credit cards were groud up beyond repair.
Spent about 3 hours last night with phone calls to try to replase them. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

A long time ago someone told me to make a copy of the back of all the credit/medical cards in my wallet. Thats where the please call if you have lost or had your card stolen info is. Through verifying your DOB, SOS # etc you can get your account info so do not copy the front. Then store the copies in your safe, filing cabinet, etc. At the time I said, ha, thats a waste of time. A few months later I had my wallet stolen and was cursing myself for not doing it. I couldn't even remember exactly what cards I had in there!

I was once mowing a field with a 5 ft brush mower and hit an underground hornet's nest. They waited until my next pass around and got me good. It was a hot day, had my shirt off and shorts on. Taught my young and dumb self a lesson that day. Hope today is better for you.

You are lucky you found what you did. I have had my hats go through my mower.Doesn't leave much to put back on your head. I was swatting bees and knocked off my glasses. Not much left, but the twisted frames. Stan

BCS tiller did a nice job on my glasses, too- they were in my shirt pocket. Found what was left of them a couple months later, when weeding.

Wallets and tractor do not mix. If I am going to use my tractor on my place my wallet stays in the house. If at a friends place well then I have it on me but I turn it so it is next to impossible for it to fall out or put it in the glove compartment of the truck

I always do that, too, except for the times I forget.

3 of us were shooting the bull the other day- 2 in our 60's, other guy is about 80. Took about a minute for someone to finally come up with the name of a guy we all know well.

80 year old says "That's why there are senior centers- gotta get enough geezers in one place so maybe somebody will remember something, just by the sheer numbers of folks thinking about it."

(quoted from post at 08:36:16 06/07/12) Our entire country would be better off if more folks mowed up their credit cards. Me included.
in't that the truth

Haven't lost my wallet yet probably cause I where old fart type pants where the wallet drops down in. I lost my 'phone once while haying. I borrowed a friends phone and went back to activate mine. I stopped on the way at an arena where they let me put my wagons in. I walked up to the first one, keyed up and I heard a chirp from the second one. I climbed up on that one, hit the key, lifted the bale right in front of me and there it was.

sorry to hear that. I lost a few good hats that way. have dropped a wallet once but found it before cutting. now I slip them in the front pocket..

have a better day!

I plowed one under in 1959, kind of special because I won it for the best 4-H electrical project at our fair. Never again, I leave it in the house or truck. Must have been my destiny, I'm a Master Electrician.
