farmall h stuck engine

The engine on my h (which has been sitting outside for 3 years without muffler cover) is stuck. I have soaked the cylinders, removed the head and pan and beat on the pistons with oak studs. I get downward movement (slight) on 2 pistons and upward movement on 2. My questions; do I continue to force the pistons this way? and is there any danger to damaging the crank shaft with this action? Any suggestions and/or advice? Thank you.

If you have any movement at all you are 90% of the way there. Don't give up now.

Did you clean up the rust in the sleeves above the pistons? That's what's causing the engine to be stuck. How badly was it rusted? If the sleeve walls are pitted you will need to replace the sleeves and pistons.

You shouldn't have to beat on the pistons anymore. Jack up a rear wheel, put the tractor in 5th, and rock the wheel back and forth.

Remove the rod cap and see if you can drive the rod and piston out the top by tapping on the connecting rod with your oak and big hammer. Hal

you need to hone out the rust first before you can get them out.then unbolt the rods possible and push them out with an hydraulic jack. make sure the crank is protected.then it is easier to get some rotation to do the others.your half way there since you have slight movement.
