Just got a message on facebook....
"Hey Dude, I got that 20 bucks you gave me... Where do I send it?"

My old roommate and runnin partner when stationed in Korea.... People can get carried away, but the ole FB is OK in my book.... Brought back a flood of memories and I can't get this bigass grin off my face.... :roll:

Just thought I'd share and give a couple folks sumpin to complain about......
 
Hey Dave,

Why dont you start finding me all those cool Porsche and VW toys in your area. Ship them back to me for some extra spending money.
 
I think it was Nebraska Cowman who said, on the subject of somebody welching on a debt- If a guy dodges you on 20 bucks he owes and you never see him again, it was probably worth it.

That's right but this was 1986 without internet etc... Gave him the money the day he was leaving on his way home and I left a couple weeks later.... We were just kids (I was 21 and he was 19).... I didn't/don't care about the money, just good to here from him.....
 
Yeah, that was neat that he contacted you. That's about the only redeeming feature I see with Facebook- getting back in touch with people from the past. The daily posting of pics of your kid doing something just priceless, your dog, etc. and people commenting on it seem like a giant waste of time. Wife has an account that she seldom looks at, I looked at stuff for awhile the other day and decided it was not something I'd be interested in.

Kinda funny but just before I came back from Korea I lent my room mate some money. He was supposed to pay me back before I left. Right before my last payday in country he went on emergency leave. I figured I'd never see that money again. He went to the BN CMD and told him what happened and the Bn Cmd got him the address to my new unit. I got my money about 3 months late......very good guy. Wonder if it was just the guys serving in Korea or the water or something.

Just different times I guess.............I don't know....... Prolly just you/we lucked into finding a good guy.... When our 1SG left the unit, he accidentally packed up all the unit funds in his stuff :roll:
