Just got back from Wall, SD. Incredibile country and lots of old tractors scattered around here and there. Headed to NE in mid Nov for a tractor search and a little deer hunting. What is mid Nov. weather like in those parts?
 
It can be nice or damn cold. I was borned and raised in Big Spring, but spent lots of time in Ogallala. Sold the wheat farm in 2007.
 
The only way to know what the weather will be like is to wait for November. Nebraska is very unpredictable. The last few years it has been very nice. Enjoy the hunting.
 
Mid November? I'd expect it to be chilly in the morning, probably a good layer of ice on the water bucket, then warm up maybe shirt-sleeve or light jacket in the afternoon. I wouldn't expect much moisture but it can. Pack your snow shovel and insulated coveralls too. Most years we don't get snow until after Thanksgiving and it never rains.
 
scottsbluff ne area has the most old tractors of any area in NE. it prolly 100mi west of ogalalla. i enjoy that area of the country!
 
Unpredictable.

Here in eastern Nebraska in November, I've gone deer hunting in my shirt sleeves, and I've sat in my pickup with the heater on hoping I'd see something 'cause it was too dammed cold to get out.

On average, though, you can expect it to be kinda frosty in the morning and tolerable in the afternoon.
 
Hey wheat farmer. I used to do some custom harvesting around Big Springs years ago. Stayed at the camp grounds next to the interstate. Any of the Klemme family around anymore? Walt was older than dirt. Kyle was in a wheel chair. He had a brother, his name slips my mind just now. Seems I heard he died of a heart attack long before retirement age.
Do they still do the dinner theatre show in Ogallala with the saloon girls? It was slightly cheesey but a nice distraction from the endless days of harvesting.
