I know you live around Greenville area and know Dr. Bartz, my BIL. I was wondering if you know any Amish that make tool handles. I have a very old hoe that I really like but the handle is shot. I'd like to get a new one made. Drop me a line at [email protected].

If you can wait til August, there's a handle shop on the grounds of the Mid Michigan Old Tractor Show in Oakley that runs while the show is on. They might be able to fab something up.
Let me do some thinking. Maybe RayP can think of somebody. There are more Amish up in his corner of the county. We've got an over abundance of Old Order Mennonites right here around Sheridan. They're a LITTLE more modern than the Amish, but only a very little.

I can"t help with the handle problem. Don"t know many Amish, or much about them. Yes, we do have a bunch a few miles from here. Just don"t have much contact with them. Check your local hardware store. Some have some premade handles, one might be close to what you need.

There's always somebody at the Trufant Flea Market every Thursday too that sells handles of all kinds. That's where I get plow handles for my horse drawn plows.

You might want to give Lehman's in Kidron, Ohio a call, they're a very large store that carries about anything Amish related. Their number is 1-888-438-5346. Their store covers a 1/4 square mile. I looked on the internet & couldn't find hoe handles but I know they had them last summer when we were up there. Just my thoughts, Keith

Some of these country stores you have are the type that you could go in for 'fork handles' and come out with 'four candles' LOL

Try House Handle company. They make just about any handle you could ever want and reasonably priced too.
