Gary,

The UIA campus camera is showing a large cloud of smoke NE of town, if I have my directions straight. Wife said it was there last night also.

Camera is facing from down town, looking at the old capital and across the river toward the hospital and stadium.

I am not IA Gary but I should work. LOL The county waste dump is on fire. They use a rubber liner and it is burning. I don't think it is the garbage but the liner right now. I have attached a link to a new store about it.

That's bound to cost you local tax payers a bunch. EPA/etc will all have to make an example out of you, dig the waste up (held on a liner and covered of course), new liner, and rebury.

You are mistaken. Cities seem to be exempt from EPA stuff. Had it been a farmer who had a silage cover burn then all holy he!! would have come down.

I was going to post on this. I noticed the smoke flying to and from Cedar Rapids yesterday. On the way out it look like the dump near Iowa City was on fire and apparently that is the case. Mystery solved!
