Our supposedly DWARF apple tree (17 ft tall) was pruned last year to remove some of the scraggly branches. This year the tree is loaded with apples. We had to buy a long reach picker to try and keep the fruit from becoming bruised from falling. These apples sure make good pies, candy apples, apple sauce, apple fritters.Should be a good year for the tree fruit.Thinking about hard apple cider(hic)Thought you might be interested. Nice pic, Lou.

The wife and I were out in our mini orchard doin' a bit of irrigation.

We put in two trees that are a cold-hardy root stock (we are in zone 4) with four grafts on it. Red and golden delicious Granny smith and Gravestien i think...never heard of that one but looks kinda like a gala.

This is year four and we hope for a small harvest of Honeycrisp.

Best of luck,

Brad

Thanks Brad. Hope you hit the jackpot of apples. Great eating how ever there fixed. My teeth are gone but I still manage to nibble on a few. Thought about making hard apple cider HIC"

I usually make about 30 gallons of applejack from my trees, but not this year. Combination of 80F in March and freezes in April took care of that.

You will love the Honey Crisp. We have two trees. Sweet yet tart, juicy, and crispy - crunchy...best apples ever!
