Straw Near Wheaton IL

Hey Guy's,

Anybody near Wheaton, IL with a couple of bales of straw they would sell?? I'm on another forum and somebody in Wheaton is having trouble finding straw to mulch their garden with.

I thought maybe one of you guys might be able to help out...... or not. No biggie to me, just thought I'd ask.

I used to live that-a-way years ago, and dang if I can remember where we went for straw.

An alternative that works for us is to use landscape fabric or newspaper and grass clippings.
Depends on how big the garden is I suppose.

I do have some straw I'd part with, if your friend wants to drive to Harvard, Il.
Im thinkin he wont want to drive that far.

I've been saving oak and maple leaves I collect in the fall in a huge pile- covered with plastic to keep them from blowing. Rather than burn them I mix in triple 12. A couple weeks ago I spread the pile- equilivent to at least a couple of small square straw bales in the garden. To me it's just as good as straw to hold moisture and block weeds.

GT, I think they want to till it in right now, the compost thing will take awhile before it's ready.
