Gravity Wagons

I for the life in me cannot find a decent gravity wagon for a reasonable price. I am willing to pay a reasonable price. Last auction, nice little Farmec, thought I had it bought a $600. That was close to my limit. Some crazy paid $950. Someone was crazy to bid against him that high. 2 or 3 cans of ugly aersol paint and the guy has it for sale for $1200. Same leaves and crud in it. Still looking and willing to pay what both buyer and seller believe to be "reasonable"

Mark,

I had exactly the same situation about two months ago. Nice medium to small gravity wagon at a sale. Tires in pretty good shape. Surface rust inside and out, but not bad. One broken hinge on the chute. I had determined to bid up to $500.00 for it. I think it sold for $950.00.

I guess I'll just keep looking.

We've got a smaller one that needs some new steel (and paint) where it rotted away from fertilizer. I plan to put that on my to do list, but as long as it's ready to go by next year for corn fertilizer again, we'll be good. I may consider putting it on a taller running gear too. I think we got it for around $150 a few years (maybe closer to 8 or 10) ago.

I bought a Westendorf 400 bu. with 22" tires and a 14T gear at a consignment a year and a half ago for $900, the paint is not great but the box and gear are very good, not sure if everyone was sleeping or what! I like it.

i agree around here a rusted out one with crappy tires goes for $800 and they just go up from there. I need another one pretty bad but only use it 1 week a year and think they should go cheaper

I have had two for sale for a while. Galvanized New Holland, always shedded, decent tires, one-foot sideboards; good wagons ready to use. Haven't advertised them hard, asking $950 ea. S.w. Pa. I think I'll take pics & put them in YT photo ads!

THAT IS a gravity wagon....
I got 2 that i really dont much use any more....told wy neabor to just take it and use it..
id say 950 would be low...was told i could get 1500 but not shure..
dont matter as im one of those guys that never sells any thing....sept farm products..

Just bought a smaller one off of CL for $300 up in Central WI. Surface rust, but was real solid. Its touch and go around here for price. Some think they are gold and others think they are too small. I believe its 165 bushel without the extensions.

As per Donovan's photo... you flip down the unloading shoot, crank open the door and it unloads via gravity.

I think $950 is what it would go for here for a decent box and gear. We just found a 225bu Bruns in real nice condition w/10ton? gear with 20's for $900, and that's one heck of a deal. I guess it all depends on the demand in your area.
