AGWEB has an article on FamilyFarms Group (FFG) since I never heard of them before did a MSN search. This is an outfit headquartered in New York City That doesn't sell farm supplies or crop inputs, doesn't buy and sell farm output, that sorta claims to advise/train farmers. Buried in their description is a sentence about Latter Day Saints Church. And they're growing--where's the profit coming from?
Sounds like a scam.
Do any of you have any information on this company? And how they help farmers?

YEAH
Or a way for the Morman church to acquire your farm.
I don't see any way for FFG to make money legitimtely.

Don't know about this particular group, but do know the church buys farm ground and owns several in this area. Believe the original intent was to space them so members traveling by horse would have a place to camp each evening. Obviously not an issue today, but still has been a good investment. At least locally they try to choose good, established but smaller farmers that could use more land to remain viable. My tenant has been a major beneficiary. He likes them but they can be a little too cost conscience about making longer term improvements. Major issue is that land will never again be available for ownership by local farmers.
