Saw this Ford and mower today? Snapped a photo . What I can't figure out is the tarp like cover across the hood and down both sides of the engine. Looked to be canvas. Plus it has been 80 degrees here for awhile now. Can anyone help ease my mind?
Thanks..

I've seen people put the rear tires on backwards and swear they cut into the yard/grass less. Never tried it myself.
As for the drape/tarp...no idea. Airport, maybe something to do with visibility from above?

Guessing the backwards tires are either to back out of wet ground while mowing or for pushing the snowblower backwards. A few mowers here run the tires backwards.

Tractor tires mounted backwards do not dig in to the sod or lawn as bad when making sharp turns.
My mower tractor has had the tires mounted backwards for 5 yrs. now , works good . clint

I believe the canvas is for a heat houser for winter and just never taken off for summer yet. It was just rolled up to let the heat out.

The Mennonite community two counties south of me say that. They use small utility tractors with truck bed trailers behind them as family cars and they all have the tires turned around backwards. I had to ask and the guy said they wear better on the road and don't tear up gravel drive ways and sod as much when turning around.
