O/T How to kill the roly - poly bugs

I know lots of you have the roly-poly bugs, or have heard of them. We have them now for the 2nd yr. You can kill lots of them, but they just keep comming back. They multiply so fast.

What are some of you doing to get rid of the little round ROLY-POLY bugs. Need help quick.
Thanks

Get rid of the moist access to moist dirt. Where are they? In your barn? No harm really. In your shed? No harm really. In your house? You have gaps leading to outside. Foundation? Pipes through exterior walls. The bottom line is that they love moist dirt leading to more moisture. You are giving them access somewhere and you need to cut it off, especially if wood is involved, because rotted or rotting wood is far more expensive. Look at them as a warning.

Mark, they are outside all around the house and in the garage, and around my shop. No, they are not in side the house yet.
Thanks,

I always called them sow bugs. I never thought they hurt anything. They would be under stuff where it's damp. I don't go those kinds of places myself.

Woodlouse is the tag that will get to the creatures in Wikipedia. They are crustacians, more like a crawdad or shrimp than a bug at all. They are not insects at all. They are only a problem if so numerous that they begin to eat live things. Dry up the moisture, keep all rotting wood and dead plant matter away from the problem area, and they will move out on their own. They prefer to feed on molding damp to wet organic matter. They do not bite, Best of luck, Jim

Why worry about them they do you no harm so why harm them??????????? They are one of those bugs that do you no harm so why worry about them unless you want to harm your self. As in if they do you no harm why do them harm since they hurt you in no way shape or form

I think everybody above is right, Our little grandkids move every board looking for them, and put them in jars. Have never saw any inside.

Which one do you have?
We call them slaters.
If they"re in the garden, roll up some newspaper and they will camp in there, did see on the search engine where they are beneficial in the garden but I think they also mess with the veges.

Raise or buy a few guinea fowl, they will keep roly-poly bugs, (we call them pill bugs), and lots of other undesirable insects under control.
