post frame barn prices

Looking to put up a new pole barn for storage. Thinking 30 by 60 by 12 ft ceiling. I have seen ads and one contractor is advertising materials and labor at $14,600. That includes everything, 3 foot entry door and 12 foot overhang on trusses, and overhead door. I would opt out on the overhead and just have 2 sliders for entry. What are some prices you have encountered? Just looking for the best deal with quality of course.

I have seen a website where a crew frames a pole shed 30x40x10, $12k roughly.
If you can get a crew to put up a 30x60x12 for under 15K then do it.
BE SURE THAT YOU CHECK OUT OTHER SHEDS THEY HAVE PUT UP.

That sounds reasonable. Where are you located? Im in Ohio and see in a magazine cleary building corp is advertising a 30x54x12 for $13,455. Doesnt say if price changes for traveling but im sure it does

I had a 40x63 Cleary building built in 1992. I would not have them do another one. If you have any problems like I did you'll fight them to get it done correctly. My roof sheets did not overhange the sidewalls but about 5/8" and water blew in under them and rotted out my side door header and other 2x4's along the side walls. They told me this is caused by not leaving the building open that cause the ceiling to sweat and rot the top boards. I have a dirt floor and six windows with two 16x15 ft sliding doors that don't seal along the bottom. A skunk can get in under them so that's how tight my build is. My advice is don't go with a cleary bldg.

I am one that believes you get what you pay for. Buildings are a much more permanent part of a farmstead than a tractor or a truck, so I wouldn't go with the government thought process of buying the cheapest thing you can find.

We have a few Morton buildings that have stood the test of time, I wouldn't hesitate to put up another one.

I just built a 24x30x10. I have right at 5000 in it, no electrical yet. Concrete is poured, the doors are installed and the metal is up. I have done 100% of the labor myself. It's built a lot better than the "kit" buildings I saw. I figure I'm about 2500 away from it being done enough for now.

Got any timber (doesn't have to be 'seller' grade, just some decent sized trees in thickets) and a little time? You can buy a manual bandsaw mill, cut the lumber yourself and put up a building for about half of the best price you can find...........

Check out BCI out of Muskogee OK (NE area of OK). They are reasonably priced, do excellent work, owner calls you after the crew leaves and asks for a critique of their work, also asks you how he can grow his business, P. Engineer stamped trusses, he makes at his site, quality materials. You pay half when your materials arrive and pay the balance when the crew finishes. What I paid for mine in '05 is meaningless to you as steel has gone up quite a bit but I felt it a fair price.

Same with the concrete floor on what I paid. Local contractor, did an excellent job.

I did the electrical and the plumbing.

I have a quote in front of me for a 40x80 machine storage building. 16x11 sliders on each end. No service doors or windows. Sky lighting. $24,995 built on my sight. East central MN.

I got quoted $17,000 for a 30x40 metal building with my choice of 4x4 square tubing or girder. That included dirt and concrete.

I've decided to do it myself and use the savings on tools.
