Today, I decided to think inside the box, instead of mowing the yard starting outside and working my way inward. I have 2 half acre rectangular yards with no trees or obsticles to get in the way. I mow with a 6 ft rear mounted woods finsih mower. Started mowing the yard down the middle and when I got an equal distant from the sides and end of the yard, I turned around. Did the same at the other end. When I finished mowing the yard looked like an oval shaped rug. There are two upsides to doing it this way. One is you are making large turnes at the ends and not making four 90 degree turns each round. Less work on the driver. The second upside is making a 90 degree turn the rear mower slides sideways leaving lots of grass to clean up in the corners. Try it, you may like it as much as I do.
