power steering problem

I have a mf205 industrial, power steering pump 773126M92 and the fluid foams out the filler opening. I've filled with tractor running, with NAPA tractor fluid stuff (green top 5 gallon bucket) and then moved wheel left and right a bunch and filled with more fluid. I have a gauge on pressure hose that read 500-1100 psi at high rpms, when I lower the rpms or turn the tractor off, all that fluid I filled the pump with shoots back out the filler opening on the pump and the fluid is really bubbly...anyone have a clue what is going on here?

I think your problem is that you have the filler bung removed!.
these resevoirs are quite small and are supposed to be filled to
bung level with the engine at tickover and the steering turned to
the left.when you turn to the right the resevoir is supposed to fill, it
cannot fill if the bung is missing. so it chucks the oil out.

hanks but what is a bung and tickover... sorry I have no idea what those are?

Translate to American "bung" the cap on the
reservoir- context the same as a bung on a drum. I
assume "tickover" is the same as idle or a fast
idle.

I am familiar with a bung on a barrel, but never heard the cover on power steering called that, and tickover, another new one. Learned something today.

It seems like the main cause of foaming with hydraulic systems is a bad seal on the shaft of the pump. It sucks in air while running.

Great...thanks. So, bung would be the filler plug and tickover is low idle or fast idle...in any case, I think I will try and order a seal and replace it. My power steering pump is the 773 126 M92 which is aftermarket...anyone know where to get a seal for this pump?
