Postive Ground

AC17

Have AC D17 with postive ground, would like to change to negative ground and put on alternator.
What all would I have to change to accomplish this?

Change battery polarity,,,,,,,,Swap ammeter (if it has one) leads side to side,,,,,,,Swap ignition coil leads, for Neg ground + gets voltage from ignition switch while - wires to Distributor,,,,,,If youre changing 6 to 12 volts you would need an external series voltage dropping (12 to 6) Ballast Resistor or else use a 12 volt rated coil with no ballast required,,,,,,,,,,,The alternators output wires to the ammeter where BAT off the Voltage regulator used to wire but I upgrade that to 10 gauge usually,,,,,,,If its not a one wire alternator you need to excite it,,,,,,,

Or you could just go with a positive ground alternator. Then the problem would be if someone where to jump the tractor and not realize it was positive ground.
