OT: A little Sunday evening fishing

Grand daughter caught this cat yesterday evening. We caught 5 this size or larger.
Pics of the catch and the pond as I stand in the back door of the house.

I am not into fishing but I am into doing things with kids. She will remember this the rest of her life. GOOD JOB!!!!!!
 
That's great- and first pic with the JD in the background keeps it on topic! What area are you in? What breed of catfish is it? Not great catfish country here (western Washington), but lots of lakes have bullheads. They stocked a lake with Channel Cats, and a couple big ones get caught every year- not by me, unfortunately.
 
Yep, it is a channel cat. We stock each year and feed them through the summer. Some get eaten by the blue herons and some by the bass. Enough survive to reach good size and they are real fighters. Largest one caught was about 25 pounds.

Can anybody tell what the large machine in front of it is?
