My son and I went out in the garage to do some work on our Case 511B When we looked at the RH front axle tube, there was a live mouse setting there. We went closer to look at him/her and discovered that it's hind quarters were wedged in a 5/8" hole in the tube. Don't know how long, but it didn't try to bite when we eased it's rear out of the hole. Felt so sorry for it, that we took it out to the edge of the lawn and set it down. Went back an hour later and it was gone.

amazing he tried to get thru a hole that small!! my project super m i have been working on (on and off) for the past couple years was a real mouse hotel when i got it. sat 20 some years in an old tool shed. no muffler, radiator was empty with the cap off. mice were in the radiator, inside the exhaust manifold when i got that apart. the front bolster inside had nests, and the whole clutch cavity was full of insulation and mice nests. wow did that tractor stink!!!

Yea, considering the little twerp was probably chewing up something you wanted nearby and stuffing it inside that axle tube. But they are cute and it feels so unsporting to hurt them like that. And he didn't even try to bit you. Move him somewhere where he can earn an honest living and put mouse traps out for his family if they hang around doing bad things. I had something tear up the insulation under the hood of my truck between the engine and firewall and stuff the air cleaner box full of it. Grrrrr.

that is a humane thing to do ...He must have ate too many seeds and overloaded his behind ,, next thing ya know , a snake could crawl in the 5/8hole looking for a mouse for supper , swallow the mouse and try to exit the 5/8 hole and because of his mouse meal , cant exit , and die trying /do you recall cnt pix lastyear/?

I declare war on varmits, and I'd likely do the same thing, I know how you felt. ;)

I suppose it got good push trying to get out, but got that far and nothing for it;s rear feet to push on, nothing to get it's front feet to grab on to with the glossy paint, so even if it wasn't stuck bad, just couldn't move from there. Interesting issue of perfect difficulty it ran into!

I've seen em go through a mortar joint on a cement blck wall and a proper joint should only be 5/8 in. I'd a stomped him! He probably had your bell housing full of pi$$ and seeds like they did to my Allis G which seized the pressure plate and clutch. Give em all Decon!

They just don't sit around waiting for you to bring them lunch.I must say you treated it rather well.

Hi case guy: Interesting comments posted about your action... I am just about ready to go to church this Sunday morning and I've often thought about the inner feelings others have towards other living things.. help by removing it from its problem or KILL the dirty little thing.. all those different views people have sitting together in church saying "Love one another"... yea sure unless it's something we don't like and then we will kill it.. ..and most feel their views are near 100%correct.. Gotta be careful who ya sit next to even in church?

2 weeks ago I was trimming in the yard of our rental house, and I found about 6 baby bunnies, and saw the mom. I let them go, but my brother's cat found atleast 3 of them since then- He'll kill them and bring them home, but won't eat them. I figure nature will take it's course, and if not they'll get trapped and/or shot next winter.

Our Dog brought up 4 baby moles..all drooled on,
but not hurt..one at a time. I kindly walked
down the road and released them it the neighbors!

Wont work.I had a grain can that was near empty. The lid was off for few minutes while I went to the truck for a bag of grain. When i came back the were 4 mice in the can.I dropped a cat into the can. The mice hid under the cat.The cat jumped out of the can.I had to kill the mice myself.Friend had the clutch housing filled with seeds and nest material on his plow truck/

I would of done the same thing, released him, I think that comes from being confined (locked up) once in my life. Heck, I stop and move box turtles outta the road too.

Had a beagle once and looked out the window to see her digging in the garden, looked out a few minutes later to see her leaving and come back to the same spot with something in her mouth.... Went out to find a nice little mound with 4 baby rabbits planted in it all snug and unhurt.................
