wheat heading out in NC Illinois

How long after heading is harvest, 4 weeks?? and will the wheat plants grow any taller after it has headed out??

Here in NY it's pretty much soft winter wheat, red or white. I've seen it put on a big growth spurt after heading.
Sorry, I can't remember how long from heading to harvest.

In the SE corner of Nebraska pan handle we would say harvest was 6 weeks away. When it started to head out. Normal cut around the first part of July. That was for winter wheat.

Not a good world picture for wheat, every country and their dog have been planting it but a lot have been going over to canola, that apparently has left the runway.

I figure here in the St. Louis area wheat will be harvested a round Memorial weekend. Very early.
