Good call for a lousy day--

Had a cow limping pretty bad last week- one claw was getting kind of long, so I called a hoof trimmer and set up a call for today. We needed to get a few trimmed, anyway. He rolled in at 8 AM and we ran a bunch of cows through that needed pedicures. The cow that was limping must have run something into her foot at some time, and needed to be trimmed, drained, cauterized and wrapped. These guys did a nice job, and are actually kind of underpaid for the work they do.

Yup, and they work good together. I might be wrong, but I think it's second and third generation.

Reminds me of when i still had beef cows, hoof trimming, what a Royal PITA.

I like my buffalo,...they never need hoof trimming'..period'

I think you may be on the mark, I have a young cow that has developed a limp in the front foot.. It is fat so I think there is too much weight on the hock.
