My Mom was going downtown and she told me that the car kept bucking when driving. We went to the Ford dealer to get her a new air filter and on the way to the dealer, it seemed that it acts just like my Impala and its bad shift solenoid.

This studder or bucking was most prevalent between 20-43mph. She has a 6 speed and the V6. From what I can tell, they have been having problems with the transmission and the car's computers from comments left online.

Her car is still under the powertrain warranty but we have to pay a diagnostic fee. The check engine light is not on and we had auto zone run the computers and nothing.

I thought it could also be the CV joint too. There is a little bit of oil on the CV joint end that fits in the transmission. The fluid looks a dull red/black.

Thanks,

Christos

Pulling the codes is nowhere near diagnoising it. There are a ton of no code drivability problems that could give you grief. Save yourself some money ,,have dealer diagnois it .

it doesn't have plug wires, Ford uses Coil on Plugs for about everything. Is trans fluid low? Do you have a big leak at the left halfshaft to trans seal? They do have an issue with a bushing for left halfshaft failing and damaging the inboard cv shaft and leaking fluid bad there. There is a service bulletin for this issue .Kind of hard to help more without feeling what is going on.
