Ferguson AO Series Plow

Aside from wrenching on my MF 135 I've been trying to get a piece of land 1/10ac ready to plant an enlarged garden to help me pay off my school loans.

I've located a Ferguson AO Series plow. The Tag is on the brace and not the mast so it would have been bought new with a Ford Tractor.

The gentleman that owns it converted it from two to one bottom when the tractor he had at the time couldn't pull it.

The bottom that was removed was disassembled. Essentially it's a basket case.

I've got a verbal agreement to purchase it and a dearborn cultivator for $150.

I know the general purpose A bottoms are obsolete. Massey did make this plow as the 62. I know the bottom that is off the plow the Moldboard is broken.

I guess my question is where is a good place to try and call for used/nos parts. Or even does anyone know where I can get a second N series bottom saddle to convert the plow.

Sorry for the long winded post...I'm frustrated with being told no, wanted to be hung up on by junkyards and being told they know their way around a plow without telling me much at all.

If I could afford the Ford 101 plow I wanted, I'd have it.

if moldboard is just broken in half it can be welded...i'm still using a welded bottom that was repaired back in the early 60's.

You might try posting this under the "Ford 9N, 2N, 8N" forum down the page a bit....there are a lot of basket cases around and you might find someone that will have parts you need.....

Or.....jump over to the "other site" and post your question under the implements tab.....

Unless you need a plow right away, I would wait until you found one that is at least useable...

BTW---if the Dearborn Cultivator is anything at all, it is worth the $150 as a stand alone....get the plow for free kind of thing.

In my area the cultivators go for $250-$350 and plows a bit more.
