Farmall cub and farmall A mowers

Generally speaking if a Woods type(unidentified)mower fits perfectly on an A Farmall, is it likely to fit perfectly on a Cub. Having a hard time getting clearance for the front wheels are hitting the dolly wheels. Should I give up? Thanks loads. Also what does the woods round type about 42 or 48 inches cut like? It has 2 blades that sling like a bush hog. I am guessing not to beautiful a cut. Thanks again.

depends on how good of shape the mower is in, i have the 42 danco [ ih] mower on my cub, it has the setup for blades you described, since i only mow grass with the cub and the rougher stuff with a brush hog, i keep the cubs blades razor sharp, it cuts smooth, and perfectly even, a far better cut than any riding mower ive seen ,including the one i bought new 2 years ago, [ now on the junk pile] no stripeing in tall grass, no windrows of grass either, no remowing the same area over and over, and the cub is a far more comfortable tractor to drive than the box store rider too,

No way that one will work on the other. Reason is that the Cub PTO turn back ward of the A and because of that one has the grass shoot out one side and the other has it out the other side. A mower made to fit a cub fits just a cub and no other tractor

Never mind the Cubs rotation as you just wind the belt different. The mounts are different but the mower deck will work. There is plenty of clearence just adjust the mower so it sets back far enough for the front wheels to have enough clearence.

Funny, we took a Woods off of a Cub, bought new mounts and blades, put it on a Super A years ago, so yes the mower will and should fit, just wont rotate right for the blades. You may need to open up your front end some. Now you said unidentified Woods type, so without know for sure what type/brand it is, its hard to say. It could be specifically design for the tractor you took it off of, but who knows who.

You may need to adjust the front end out - Woods made those mowers to fit several tractors. With the rite brackets , it should work.
I run a 5' (RM59) 3 point behind a Ford 8N and just looked at a Cub with a mid mount Woods (no name tag) That looks like the same mower.
Rotation depends on how you run the belts.
Good luck.
