Oldest tractor...

1916 Emerson-Brantingham 'Big 4' was the oldest in attendance.A good friend purchaced this 2 years ago in poor nonrunning condition,but mostly complete.After a lot of work and money it now runs.This is its first show-And I got to drive it!!Again...the cammera died :(

The elderly gentleman in the top picture behind the tractor sure looks like my late father. He loved to go to tractor and thresher shows.

He always wore gray pants, thick flannel shirt and a cap.
 

Since reading about and looking at pictures of those in Antique Power mag, I have thought that they were one of the most interesting of the early tractors.

Love old interesting engines like that - it's so cool to see the early engineering ideas, yet amazing when you realize much hasn't changed.

That is a really neat tractor. Love the rear steel. Gee, it is enormous...makes the men near it look like diminutive fellows.

The older, bigger, cruder and rougher they are the more I like 'em.

My favorite saying is, "It's not rust.... It's patina....".
 
Dang I was out at Montrose 2 years ago. Now I have a reason to go back. I want to see ALL the Big 4's in the USA. Thanks
