Today I turned 21 years old. I sure am looking foward to having a beer in the shop and to be able to offer someone a beer when they are hanging in the shop with me. Today's a good day!

Take it easy!
From Denton, Nebraska.

Today is also my Dad's birthday. He turns 78 years young. He had a very bad heart attack back in 1998. CPR went on for what seemed like hours. They shocked him 13, yes(thirteen) times but with the grace of God they finally got him back. Have a great birthday but remember....You have a lifetime to keep growing up. Try to learn something new daily and always do what you know is right. Happy Trails.

Forty years ago I had the plan of waiting until midnight when I turned 21 and then buy a drink legally. At 8:00 that evening, four hours before midnight, I got a terrible case of the flu and didn't feel like drinking for a week. At the time I felt royally cheated because I'd been waiting so long for the time when I could 'drink like an adult'. Now I look back at that time and laugh at myself for being in such a hurry. Back then, for a while, in Iowa the drinking age was 18 and that was when I was 17. Then they changed it back to 21 right before I turned 18. Cheated again! Jim

A good day for birthdays.

It's my son's birthday too.

But he's got 7 more years till he can have a beer.

Happy birthday.

Well, happy birthday! Enjoy being young for as long as you can. Lots of ways of telling when you get old. One, when the cops come into the tavern to check IDs, you have to beg them "Please card me and make me feel better". Two, the sign at the door says "You must have been born on the date (21 years ago) to drink in this tavern", and you were drinking in that same tavern legally 21 years before even then. Three, you ask a young lady to dance, and they yell "Ick", and run away.

My point, stay forever young, and when someone cards you, don't get mad, thank them instead, because one day when you least expect it, they will stop and it will be too late to turn back the clock.

Happy Birthday! As much as you like the old stuff.....better go find the 1960's Classic Version of Schlitz and enjoy the good stuff. They do have it now in NE, may have to look a little.
