need some info

i have a 03 chevy 3500 D. will turn 100k soon Had injectors changed ,other than that just oil changes. local dealer says it should have all fluids changed now at 100k, between 7 and 1000$ .? truck runs great daily driver 20mi per day . do i need to have this done.

I bought a 2002 GMC K3500 with 70K miles, read the owner's manual, then took it to a dealer to have deferred maintenance brought current. Just fluid changes to the tranny and transfer case weren't all that costly.

I think the dealer is upselling you, read the manual and find out what Gvmnt Motors RECOMMENDS, and get a price for only that work. If left to their own devices dealers love to sell you stuff that only benefits their bank balance, remember the pay plan at the average dealer is 25% of what you can steal, 'mm I mean "sell". Excessive maintenance is also used as a tool for you to trade your truck and sign up for 5 more years of those "easy" payments and a chance for them to pick up another 1-2K when they resell your old truck, by the way the dealer won't due the $1,000 dollars of service they recommend but put it on the books so they don't have to pay commission to the sales guy on that $1,000.

Agree that the tranny and transfer case should be changed. Unless a prob with difs or coolant. Let her ride. Just my 2 cents
