Need to intermittently, furnish water at 18 gpm through PVC pipe, 1.6" ID to livestock water tank. The pump we are considering is a Wayne CWS 100, pt# 56956. Inlet is directly to pump, through 2" PVC with 15' positive head pressure. Hydrant may be either 1" or 3/4" and will be at an elevation 74" above the pump and 3000" away. Comments and recommendations please.

Can you get 18g/m through a 3/4 inch hydrant? Seems my well is rated at 20g/m, the well man told me it would pump 50g/m indefinately but could only flow 20g/m through the 1 inch pipe....

The loss in 3000 feet is going to be a toughie.

If your water source is 15 feet above the pump and you want the pump to lift the water only 74," that means you still have almost 9 feet of drop to your tank from your source, why not just gravety feed it to the tank and increase your tank size so the flow rate doesnt have to be so high? Might be cheaper in the long run...
