Looking for any info on an 1957, 860 Ford (gas) regarding weather or not this tractor is actually a Powermaster and if so how does that apply to the tractor exactly?[/img]

Some very late model 1957 Ford 8xx tractors were shipped with Powermaster decals.

Aside from the decals, there was no difference between these tractors and those shipped without the decals shortly prior.

An 860 would not be a powermaster as that came with the 861 and that tractor was rated at 4 more pto hp than the 860. Was due to the uping of the horse power.

based on the reserch that i have done so far on this tractor i am tempted to beleive you in that it should not have the powermaster logo. the rub here is that this tractor was brought into the family as a second owner and to our knoledge has never been painted or otherwise altered with the exception of the rear wheel rims being replaced. of course grandfather has passed so the memories of this issue are all based on remaining offspring along with some very early pictures of this tractor in the family. iguess in reality im not taking it to the fair but i would like to understand what i have. thank you for the input and if any of you out there have any additional info on this i would love to hear it.

The 860 would have the NAA style grill while the 861 Powermaster would have the style with red painted bars in the grill. Serial number will tell you.

My '57 power master came with the decals on the original paint under the later paint. I have also seen plenty of pictures of 9X0 with the power master decal, including the wheel with the wind lines behind it.

If you go on ebay and search for Ford power master advertising you will get plenty of hits for 1957 Ford Powermaster, original advertising. It appears that they started it in '57.
