Well, IAGary and you other guys in IA, have you planted any corn yet? Looked at IA weather and looks like you have had a warming trend, at least they didn't forecast any freezing nights. Here in SC we had a couple of nights of mid 30s last week with frost, nipped back the Johnson grass. Warmer now. Corn in garden is ok. Beans in garden are ok. 66 this morning.

Yes the planters are running everyplace. I live just south of Gary and yesterday was 50 mi south of here and they were all overmost have big ones so they can cover tons of acres everyday lots were running last nite at 10 as i came home from seeing my brother in the hosp.

Almost all the corn is planted here in the greater KC area and most of it is up. I baled hay yesterday, alf alfa and a little clover. It was 92 degrees and felt like making hay in July. All my wheat is headed out and its just the end of April. It is very dry, we need a week of soaking rain. Even though the alf alfa was good, we do not have much growth at all in our grass hay.

I haven't planted my big 8 acer feild yet. Its all ready but I'm thinking a waiting. Its suppose to freeze here tonight in Mid Michigan. I have found that it does better in the long run to wait untill it warms up a bit. It has just laid in the ground in the past untill it warmed up anyway. Of corse if I was a BTO with alot to plant I would be planting as they are around here now and have been for the last week.

Glad to hear you got that hay put up. Was it me that guessed 16 would be absolute minimum you you get for moisture?
I picked up a used IH990 haybine and reconditioned it. Anxious to give it a whirl. Now I have backup for that Gehl 2160
