picked this 1964 model 3020 up this morning off lookout mountain ga. has 148 loader and 709 jd rotary cuter with it and to top it off its a power shift seem all the gears work less park well check that out little rough but for is age not bad. hyd work good also picker the mower right up to load. my f350 super duty 99 model came up over mt eagle no problem then up I-24 to the pennyrile parkway into hopkinsville stayed right between 65 and 70 all the way never missed a beat the 7.3 has to be ford best engine. now it does suck the fuel at that speed but any slower you be run over any more.

Congrats on your purchase, Ben. Cool pics and thanks for the report of your trip. However, hope you didn't mean your praise of the "Ford's 7.3" literally, it's an International engine. Despite that, not a bad engine, got one in an 89 F-350 service truck.

Not in that truck, it's not. Ford used the International IDI 7.3 until mid-1994, but then switched to their own engine (Powerstroke). It had the same displacement, but nothing else was the same. That truck is a SuperDuty (1999 or newer). Both 7.3s are good reliable engines, but the IH engine was a dog compared to the Powerstroke.

The Powerstrokes were designed and built by International up until 2011 model year. The current 6.7 is the first Ford designed and built Powerstroke.
