towing company

anybody know of any cheap and reliable towing companies basically just a rollback. i was looking at a couple ford trucks ones parts the other to possibly fix. ones in rome and ones in eaton. does anybody know a company that would haul those to boonville. my kid wants them but dont have a way to transport them so ive been looking for a tow co. anybody know of one. thanks for your help. if not maybe i will try in the hauling sched just wanted your suggestions first.

How about a car dolly from U haul or alike?? Cheaper if you can do it yourself! Surely, your son or you know someone with a good truck!! Or get a car hauler trailer, am sure it can be rented, too with a winch. Even if you don't have a winch, you can rig it to pull up on virtually any trailer, with come-a-longs, pulleys.
Towing companies charge a call/basic fee, plus mileage. Here in SW OK, the mileage is 3.50/a loaded mile. No telling what it is in NY.
Try and see if posting in Hauling Schedule (link on the left of this page) will get you someone.

I have dealt a few times with a local tow truck driver, he will haul a
load in for $75 if it is within 10-15 miles or so, seems to run about
$4-5 per loaded mile after that. He does a good job. I would think
you would need to find someone local to you or to where the trucks
are in order to make it affordable.

I second the U-haul idea, but go with a full-on car hauler, not a dolly.

Their dolly will not handle a full size pickup truck...

Of course if we're talking about bigger trucks, then that might be another issue.

thanks for the responses. i may have found somebody. both are 87 f150s. one with a blown motor but its complete he wanted to fix and the other has no diffs its just the trany motor cab and frame so the would have to be put on a trailor.
